If we were to hear those [Biblical] statements in view of the connected demands as to our new life in Christ, the idea of attempting to constantly review every possible principle in order to do the right thing would never fly. source

Why the gospel doesn't make sense to those who hear it

Hello R, Thanks for writing with a little of your background in the grace of Christ.

our city is around a million people but this is a tough message to get to them. I even have a baptist pastor who i am teaching, I thought they would know this message but they to struggle in a legalistic thinking. Today I am staying faithful and hoping to connect with those of like heart so to find your site was very fresh thank you R

Consider the fact that this message of grace is not really "tough" it actually is evaluated by the fleshly mindset as total insanity!! Paul had said,

For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not come to know God, God was well-pleased through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe. 1 Corinthians 1:21

"the foolishness of the message preached" is literally, "the foolishness of the preaching". The distinction? Simple, because for us to even present this reality would be totally futile unless God gives miraculous insight. When we speak the truth of Christ and Him crucified we are speaking a foreign language with a foreign reality that goes totally against EVERYTHING the hearers have come to understand. No wonder Paul called us "ambassadors".

Looking forward to hearing more from you. :)
