A Coming Grace Movement?

Do you think that this will sweep over the Body of Christ as did the charismatic movement did in the late 60’s and 70’s? Or, will this message only be shared one on one to small groups? Bob

Hi Bob,

Somehow, I have difficulty seeing the good news of grace and freedom doing any sweeping — but then again, I can’t put anything past God. To tell you the truth, I don’t see great benefit in the sweeping of a movement, as a movement is often the result of a mixed bag, at best. Of course, I do think there already is a grace movement, and that it is that mixed bag made up of various fleshly attempts to capture this grace of Christ into formulas and patterns.

What I desire to see is the real SANITY that God ministers in Christ so that we are not running and jumping on every new grace-bandwagon. Haha! Grace is so, so real that it causes us to realize that all else is merely bogus game playing or superstitious religious practices and belief structures. Life, the real life of God himself working in us, is what I desire to see sweeping those born of God.

If we were to hear those [Biblical] statements in view of the connected demands as to our new life in Christ, the idea of attempting to constantly review every possible principle in order to do the right thing would never fly. source
